The case markings are somewhat concealed underneath the original black crackle finish. Zippo manufactured two main varieties of black crackle finish lighters during the war. This particular example, with a three barrel hinge, 14 hole chimney, rounded bottom, and "PAT. 2032695" insert stamp, denotes wartime production ranging from 1943
